The TFM Social Community Fund (Fund) supports community development for the primary benefit of community members impacted by the Tenke Fungurume Mining (TFM) project. Its goal is to improve quality of life for residents by investing in sustainable community development projects supporting infrastructure and relevant services including health, education and agriculture. In accordance with the Convention signed between the Government of the DRC and TFM, TFM contributes 0.3 percent of its annual net metal sales to the Fund.

The Fund is a Congolese non-governmental organization, an independent entity with ASBL (association sans but lucrative) status. It is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of a representative appointed by the provincial government, two representatives nominated by the local community and four TFM representatives. A Stakeholder Forum consisting of community leaders and representatives advises the Board on community priorities and project funding decisions.

Individuals, associations, non-profit organizations (either local or international) who have ideas for sustainable development of communities impacted by the Tenke Fungurume Mining project are welcome to submit their ideas.

Project idea forms are available at the Community Liaison Offices in Tenke and Fungurume and can be downloaded from this page.

Ideas may be submitted either in person at the Community Liaison Offices in Tenke or Fungurume or by e-mail to Fonds_social@fmi.com.
