University Scholarships

The Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation is proud to fund scholarships through a number of universities, community colleges and professional organizations across the U.S. 

College sophomores (and above) who are full-time students majoring in mining-related degrees such as engineering, metallurgical engineering or geology/geological engineering are invited to apply. 

Scholarships are available to students with U.S. citizenship or students attending a North American university with citizenship in Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chile, Peru, Canada, Mexico or Australia.

Scholarships for the Children of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Employees

Freeport-McMoRan awards scholarships to the biological or adopted children of full-time, active employees working at a U.S. location, as well as all expatriates or third country nationals on a U.S. payroll. Transferred employees on temporary assignments are not eligible; however, they remain eligible for their home country programs. The application deadline for the 2013/2014 academic year is Monday, November 19, 2012.
