The Greater Green Valley Community Foundation, with the guidance of Better Together Southern Arizona Coalition, is spearheading a fund for non-profits that will, in turn, get resources to the community.

The Environmental Fund of Minera El Abra, a Freeport-McMoRan Company, Inaugurates Three Recycling Stations.

Together for a Sustainable Calama is the name of the recycling project that will benefit more than 4,000 people in the towns of Tocopilla, Calama, Maria Elena and Alto Loa in the Calama region of Chile.

The University of Arizona Center for Innovation and the town of Sahuarita are teaming up to launch a BizLaunch, a business incubator program, sponsored by Freeport-McMoRan.

The program will enroll five or six entrepreneurs or teams for its spring cohort, with six weeks of free training from April 8 through May 13 and a community demo day scheduled for May 20.

For the first time ever, the dreamers behind the the Gila River Linear Park unveiled their concept for the trail last week at a meeting held by the Gila Watershed Partnership.

The corridor proposed for the park is along privately owned land and the funding for the initial phase of the project came courtesy of funding provided by Freeport McMoran and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.

Mountain Youth and Eagle County Schools expand collaboration of comprehensive wellness and prevention teacher trainings.

The trainings are funded through the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation Climax-Area Community Investment Fund and will ultimately impact every elementary student in Eagle County Schools.

Freeport-McMoRan's Bat Week shines a light on biodiversity and conservation.

Freeport-McMoRan partnered with a number of national and local nonprofit organizations, agencies and businesses in hosting Bat Week which in 2019 ranged from field trips, classroom presentations with live animals, STEM and conservation activities to trail maintenance and habitat restoration for students and community members.

Freeport-McMoRan Foundation supports the Gila Valley Food System Coalition in Safford to map local food system resources and identify gaps and opportunities to increase food security.

The Coalition has identified four priorities; data collection, centralized information and referral, a commercial kitchen and kitchen co-op space, and a farmers' market a working group assigned to each.

Freeport-McMoRan received the Spirit of Education Award from Tucson Values Teachers for its significant contributions to K-12 education in Southern Arizona.​
