Employee Matching Gifts Program
The Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation will match employee contributions of $25 or more, up to an annual maximum of $40,000. The first $1,000 contributed per eligible nonprofit organization will be double matched and any amount above $1,000 will be single matched, subject to the annual maximum.
ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS
- All permanent, full-time or part-time employees, and full-time consultants (as designated by Human Resources) employed by Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold (FCX), including any division, subsidiary or affiliate of the company.
- Members of the Corporate Board of Directors.
ELIGIBLE INSTITUTIONS / ORGANIZATIONS
Any nonprofit, civic, health, social welfare, educational, cultural, environmental or other community organization that provides a public service is eligible.
Organizations must have tax-exempt status as defined in Section 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1, 2 or 3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, or be an instrumentality of a state or local government (as defined by Section 170(c)1 of the Internal Revenue Code which generally covers educational institutions).
No personal material benefit may be derived by the employee (or a family member). For example, funds may not be used for membership fees, event / entrance fees, event tickets, student tuition or fees, etc.

Any 2012 gift must be verified by the recipient organization by December 31, 2013. If not verified by this date, the gift will no longer be eligible for matching funds.
