On Nov. 28, the Freeport McMoRan Foundation presented Gila Community College with a $150,000 grant that will help to upgrade programs, equipment and the facility at the college’s Miami Regional Training Center. The college is working to improve its advanced manufacturing/fixed plant, welding and HVAC programs by adding state-of-the-art equipment and technology, providing students with up-to-date skills that lead to local employment in high-wage, high-demand fields.
